Re-evaluate, Reimagine, and Reinvigorate: Responding to and Creating Change in Academic Librarianship

Save the date:

The December Academic Librarians Section meeting has been booked for Friday December 5th from 9am to 3pm in Room 7000 in the Harbour Centre building at SFU Vancouver.

Call for proposals:

The theme of this year’s ALS December Lightning Talks is Re-evaluate, reimagine, and reinvigorate: responding to and creating change in academic librarianship

Have you recently redesigned a library workshop, updated a library policy, or changed something else about your library or your professional practice? Come share your experience at the December ALS meeting. The Academic Librarians in Public Service (ALPS) committee has recently changed its name to the Academic Librarians Section (ALS) to recognize the diverse work done by academic librarians. Inspired by this change, the theme of this year’s December meeting is a celebration of all of the ways in which we respond to and create change across our libraries.

Submissions:

Format: Lightning talks (10-15 minutes for each presenter with Q&A time afterwards)

Submit a proposal for your lightning talk to adymarz@sfu.ca by 4 pm on November 10th, 2014.

Please include your name, the title of your proposed talk, and details on how your topic connects to this year’s theme. No need to submit a detailed proposal; write a few lines or provide a more detailed write up if you have one. All ideas welcome. Lastly please tell us if you’ll require technology beyond a laptop, projector and wifi.
