Getting Hired in Higher Education: A Panel

Interested in a career in academic libraries? Want to learn more about navigating the hiring process and securing your first professional position? Join us for this information to hear from recent graduates as they share their experiences transitioning from student to professional in the world of academic librarianship!

Panelists from college and university libraries will discuss their paths from graduation to employment, and the tips, tricks, and strategies they have found useful as new librarians and information specialists. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask our speakers your questions on how best to prepare yourself for success as an academic librarian! This event is facilitated by Academic Librarians in Public Service (ALPS) at SLAIS. Contact Amber Saundry (asaundry.slais@gmail.com) for further details.

This event is being held at UBC’s IKBLC, Dodson Room on 29 October from 12:00-1:30 pm. We hope to see you there!
